The original title of Solitude and Solidarity is Convergence and Divergence. 9 and the Numbers say that solidarity takes place when the convergence of individuals turn toward the solitude of others. They also say that through such solidarity, we and the world we live in gain the power to continue the endless divergence.
A Möbius strip was used to express the two concepts that seem opposite, but are actually interconnected.
