The Wooden Moon

Artist Gyu Kim is fascinated by nature’s sedimentation and permanence of time contained in a material called wood. She presents wooden sculptures that have been worked in an unstructured way. These exhibition works are based on the earthen moon jar, but are made of wood with soft and solid properties. I have made unique textures and silhouettes reminiscent of wood grain and moon surface.
